Ana Maria Vidalon (born 1957)

Ana Maria Vidalon was born in 1957 in Peru. She has been working at Creativity Explored of San Francisco since 1993. Vidalon is often described as a sweet and shy woman who has an easy smile. She usually works with pens and pencils on paper, but also enjoys working with fabric or clay. Recently she has been experimenting with book and printmaking. Vidalon loves to draw very small figures and animals. Initially when one views her drawings, her work looks like small circles and lines but, upon closer inspection, one sees they are tiny people. She repeats them until the paper is covered with the icons, either with original drawings or using paper collage. Vidalon has maximized and incorporated the figures by employing both printmaking and collage, combining many small figures with larger ones.
